- In our program, you’ll start from a scientific basis of physiology, pathology, and chemistry. You’ll learn about the structure of aromatic molecules contained in essential oils, their chemical functions and reactions, biosynthesis, and therapeutic properties. Set yourself apart from other aromatherapy practitioners with the only master’s degree in the US that includes instruction in personalized application techniques. The role of Ayurveda in aromatherapy Our tools to develop personalized essential oil recommendations come from the Maharishi AyurVedaSM health system (MAV), a holistic and scientifically-based system of alternative medicine. Ayurveda is the traditional system of medicine in India, and Maharishi AyurVeda is a modern scientific revival of this system. Aromatherapy is traditionally an aspect of Ayurveda.
